Hi, Cole:) I got the offer via email. Acaedmic team asked me whether available; then, HR sent me an official offer with internship agreement. Cheers!

Hi guys, I was selected for the internship for the Summer 2009 session but unfortunately couldn't go cause of the finance issue Anyway, I know lot of people contacted departments they wished to intern directly and explaind how and why they want to intern and also that you're aware that the internship is unpaid. This just expresses your motivation more clearly. This seems to worl cause lot of them got called back. So I definitely recommend it. Also, many of the departments don't even know what's going on or that there's an intern selection so if you contact them it may help them decide. Just wanted to share my thoughts and experience here. Good luck guys! Tijana

Thanks Tijana So it's good to just contact them directly. It's just me I don't know anybody in the IT department. Motilda can I add you to my Facebook so we can keep in touch?

Yeah, it really helps contacting them. I also didn't know anybody at the UNDEF but I reserched their website and found out who to contact, under Staff section. Usually, go with the programme coordinator or human resources within the department. Contact the department you'r interested in. It could be worth it.

Hello everyone. ..I applied for the Public Administration Internship with the Department of Economic and Social Affairs. This was some time ago (november) and my status is still "Under Consideration." Should I assume that I have not been selected? I would greatly appreciate any input. Best of luck to everyone!

hey, i applied last november and form day 1 it still shows under consideration in inspira. this is for an internship role in the bangkok office. i also applied for UNDP last december 27. i have no idea whats going on with that one. they dont have any tracking system like inspira. another role i went for is under the economic and social affairs department in new york last week. this one changed from applied to under consideration immediately. another department i applied for is the un office in copenhagen last december. they have a diff system. mine changed from applied to longlisted and it shows their current action which is shortlsiting. so basically they have been shortlisting for 6 weeks now. the wait is so frustrating. i just want to find out whether i get in or not. has anyone who has applied recently got anything other than longlisted or under consideration?
