hi guys,
it´s so nice that I bumped into your blog. I´ve got also an offer for one management department – so I´m also in congratulation to you all too. I´m a little bit concerned though, given this super short preparation time…I would be more than happy to share a flat with some of you. I´ve just sent a request to join the FB group…so we´ll keep in touch!

Dear all
Thanks for this forum - and a great idea with the facebook group. I have just requested to join
I got a position in Disarmament & International Security (first committee, UN General Assembly). Starting Jan 17! The offer letter came in rather late at Dec 13, which means I'm pretty stressed out about funding, accomodation, visa etc.
I'm interested in finding shared housing, preferably in Brooklyn (Williamsburg).
regards,
Thomas Damgaard (Copenhagen, Denmark)

Chichi when you guys say funding what do you mean. Are there like organizations that fund some interns or something?

there are some organisations that can provide some funding/assistance like university travel grants or charity organisations..but most of them require advance applications and is also dependent on the country.. but they can be far and few between..

hi guys! Question for those who have already got their visas: are your visas valid precisely for your internship period or longer? I wonder whether i'll be able to do little traveling around the US after the internship? Regarding accommodation: I'm absolutely up for saving money on the rent. I'll arrive in mid Feb and would made a very good roomy to Emma: I'll be working in the technology department, Umoja

Thanks Motilda. hopefully you'll keep checking this forum in the future. Cause my goal is to work later with the UN in Africa. I will extend my Masters to 2.5 years , take classes in the skills they need etc... I was also told VSAT is very important. Is anybody else interning in IT?
